HOW CAN I RENT?

We offer two great ways to get you into the backcountry!

Get playing as soon as possible! Choose between Trailer Yourself rentals or make it easy and book the Show Up and Ride option where your vehicle is ready for you at the trailhead. Soak in the adrenaline or take it easy — our rentals will perform for you no matter your riding style.

Show Up and Ride

Summit ATR and Polaris Adventures teamed up to bring you Show Up and Ride summer and winter adventure options. Experience the latest and greatest Polaris side by side and snowmobile rentals on Montana’s Little Bear and Big Sky trailheads. All you have to do is show up at our Bozeman or Big Sky locations and we’ll do the rest. Don’t worry about trailering rides to your location, we’ll take care of that for you.

Trailer Yourself

Summit ATR’s Trailer Yourself option allows riders to haul our machines to nearby mountain trail systems of their choosing. We’ll help you load up snowmobile or side by side rentals and get you on the trails in no time. Our well-maintained, latest-model machines will take you to wild places where you may only see a handful of people all day, but you’ll be surrounded by beautiful scenery and abundant wildlife.

How much does it cost?

Prices vary with different types of equipment and length of rental. To secure a reservation for all rentals, we require a 20% non-refundable deposit over the phone or full payment if you book online. Click on “Show Up and Ride” or “Trailer Yourself” to read more about pricing options, or feel free to call us at 406-581-5086.

Will I lose my deposit if I cancel?

Yes, all deposits are non-refundable. We have a 48-hour cancellation policy.  If you cancel within 48 hours prior to your rental, you will be charged in full. If you cancel outside of the 48 hours, you will only lose your 20% deposit.

Is safety equipment included?

Yes, helmets are included with every rental.  Mountain snowmobiles come with a safety and convenience package that includes an avalanche beacon and a backpack with a shovel and an avalanche probe. You may rent winter gear packages for $40/person that include a jacket, gloves, boots, and bibs or snow pants.

What are the pickup and drop-off times? Can I pick up the night before?

We open our doors at both our Bozeman and Big Sky locations at 8 AM and ask that you show up at least 30 minutes before your expected ride time. Everything must be returned to our locations no later than 4 PM for Show Up and Ride machines and 5 PM for Trailer Yourself machines. Rentals returned after 6 PM will be charged in full for another rental day. Sorry, we do not allow any rentals to be picked up the night before.

Do the rentals come with a full tank of gas?

Yes, all rentals come with a full tank and you will be responsible for the cost of filling them back up. We do this for you and charge you the price of premium/gal for that day.

Do you deliver? Pickup?

Yes, delivery and/or pickup options are available at checkout.  Please call us at 406-581-5086. for a delivery quote and note that certain areas restrict us from pickups and deliveries.

Where can we ride?

Summit ATR has multiple suggested areas with various rider capabilities for all rentals with our Trailer Yourself adventures. Begin your Show Up and Ride adventure at either Big Sky or Little Bear trailhead and explore nearby locations. What are Summit ATR’s rental requirements?

You must be 25 years old with a valid driver’s license to rent any of our equipment. To operate any rental, you must be at least 18 years old with a valid driver’s license.

What happens if I crash?

Bummer. We crash too. We’ll get over it. Just be honest with us and let us know what happened. We promise not to yell. We’ll work through it together with your needs in mind. But insurance helps. (See below.)

Do you offer insurance?

Yes, our Show Up and Ride rates include insurance w/ a $3000 deductible. Option to upgrade to premier protection for $20/machine and that brings the deductible down to $1500. Our Trailer Yourself adventures have the option to add insurance on any machine and is highly recommended and affordable. Deductibles and rates vary depending on which machine you rent.

Are there taxes?

Yes, Big Sky location has a 4% Resort Tax Winter and Summer. All Side by Side rentals pay a 4% Montana Recreation Tax.

Do you offer half-day rentals?

Yes, our Show Up and Ride summer adventures have half-day and full-day options for the Little Bear trailhead, while the Big Sky trailhead offers half-day options only. Our Show Up and Ride winter adventures at Big Sky have half-day and full-day options available, while the Little Bear location offers 4-hour options only.
